Philemon Oppong Sika, popularly known as P.O. Sika went through his classical training at the Ghana
a College of Art and Design, Accra, where he obtained his Diploma in Art Education in 1985. He has taught
as an art tutor in the same college for ten years (1993-2003) and now is a freelance artist.

TECHNIQUE

His technique is an interesting blend of realism and abstraction involving the use of traditional African
Symbols (‘Adinkra’-Farewell) and also the everyday life and scenes of the Ghanaian/ African society.

MEDIUMS
His choice of mediums range from oils, acrylics, watercolors and ink.

AWARDS
P.O. Sika won the National Award Prize ( age category of 18 to 30years) for the 12th World Festival of Youth and Students in 1985 at the age 18 and participated in the Festival in Moscow, Russia.
